Just for a moment, I want you to all forget the tv shows, the celebrity and the general stigma attached to Gordon Ramsay, because a restaurant that has retained 3 Michelin stars for 14 years must be doing something right.
With the phenomenal talent of Clare Smyth running the kitchen (soon to be leaving) and the very charming Jean-Claude Breton this is one of the great ones.
Jean-Claude and his front of house team make you feel very special, make you feel important, weather you have been dining at Royal Hospital Road for many years or for the first time. Hands down, this is the most charming team in London, and it comes very natural.
An elegant and relaxed dining room, it feels light, fresh and clean cut, this also reflects in the menu, sometimes the best dishes are the simple ones done to perfection.
This is fine dining where it should be, no themes, just great produce and each individual ingredient cooked to perfection, the Ravioli of Lobster is one of the old Ramsay favourites, I very much like the Sautéed foie gras with the roasted veal sweetbreads, the Halibut main is also a winner.
Be sure to speak to the fabulous sommelier Jan Konetzki for some great wine picks.
